U.S. software company Oracle plans to meet all of its electricity needs globally with renewable energy by 2025. In addition, the company says that all its operations worldwide, including all of its facilities and cloud infrastructure, will be all green as it expands its sustainability programme.
Presently, Oracle’s European Cloud regions utilise 100% renewable energy, and 51 of the company’s offices globally have switched to renewable energy.
The UK Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Kwasi Kwarteng noted that “oracle’s ambitious pledge today will ensure it is going further and faster to reach a sustainable future, and inspiring other businesses around the world to be more environmentally friendly.”
