Mars Inc, Silgan Containers, and BHJ USA have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the onshore wind farm, which is located in the Midwest Independent System Operator’s (MISO) region. It has been in use since March.
The 121MW Ford County Wind power station in Illinois will be purchased by Ørsted, a Danish sustainable energy company, from money managed by Ares Management Corp’s Infrastructure Opportunities strategy.
The deal is expected to be finalised later in 2022, pending regulatory approval. It will increase Ørsted Onshore’s operating and under-construction capacity in the United States to around 4.4GW.
