Hurricane Ida touched down in Louisiana on Sunday, destroying the power grid, and destroying several properties. According to PowerOutage.US, over one million customers are without power supply.
Hurricane Ida went through Louisiana with winds of 150 mph. A critical transmission infrastructure was affected when a key transmission tower that carries electricity to the New Orleans area collapsed. The power company said more than 2,000 miles of transmission lines were out of service, along with 216 substations.
Weather forecasts have predicted flash flooding and mudslides in the aftermath of the hurricane.
