Primergy Solar LLC has attracted California-based community choice aggregator (CCA) San Diego Community Power (SDCP). The firm will be the power off-taker for a 400-MW solar project with battery storage in Nevada.
The solar and energy storage projects operator, a portfolio company of Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, and SDCP have signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). This PPA is connected to the entire capacity of the Purple Sage Energy Center.
San Diego Community Power will receive power and the related green energy attributes. Also, the contract supplies are scheduled to begin in 2027. Furthermore, the Purple Sage Energy Centre will feature photovoltaic (PV) modules and 1.6 GWh of battery energy storage systems installed between Las Vegas and the California border.
When operating at full capacity, the site will be able to produce more than 1.2 million MWh of electricity annually, estimated to be enough to supply over 100,000 households.
