Qatar Charity’s “Rofaqa” Trains Sponsored Individuals in Sustainable Energy Sector

Qatar Charity has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Terra Energy, Rwanda’s sustainable energy consulting firm.

This partnership will empower African youth in the renewable energy and sustainability sectors through comprehensive training and mentorship initiatives through Qatar Charity’s “Rofaqa” initiative.

The empowerment will take place in five African countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Somalia, and Burkina Faso. Under the agreement, training in renewable energy has commenced for 80 students sponsored by Qatar Charity in Rwanda.

Also, Abdullah al-Kohaji, Director of the Child and Family Care Department at Qatar Charity said this partnership aims to empower African youth in general and those sponsored by Qatar Charity through its “Rofaqa” initiative to spearhead the clean energy transition across Africa.

Dr Mohamed Alhaj, Managing Director of Terra Energy, said, “This partnership will combine the collective expertise and resources of both organisations to deliver technical and skills-focused training to young African changemakers in renewable energy, climate change, and sustainability.”  

He added that the partnership consisted of an intensive skills development boot course and a mentorship program designed to prepare African youth for the job market through the “Rofaqa” initiative, enabling them to launch their projects.
