The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) management team, led by acting Managing Director Abba Aliyu, visited the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) on Friday, May 17, 2024.
The REA delegation, including Executive Directors and senior management, aimed to secure NERC’s support for its renewable energy initiatives. They discussed projects like mini-grids, Energising Education, and Energising Agriculture.
NERC Chairman Sanusi Garba welcomed the REA team and stressed the need to continue efforts to increase rural electricity access. He assured them of NERC’s commitment to aiding REA’s vision to improve power sector performance.
The meeting included several key NERC officials. They were Dafe Akpeneye, commissioner for Legal, Licensing, and Compliance. Nathan Shatti, commissioner for Finance and Management Services. Dr Musiliu Oseni, vice chairman; Aisha Mahmud, commissioner for consumer affairs; Dr Yusuf Ali, commissioner for planning, research, and strategy. And other senior staff.
