- ReNew Power has revealed that it is planning to develop green hydrogen projects in Egypt and Morocco
ReNew Power, an Indian renewables company, has revealed that it is planning to develop green hydrogen projects in Egypt and Morocco. The company has also focused on Oman, Mint reported on Tuesday, without naming its sources.
The initiative will be the first entry of the Indian company into Africa. The project will be taken up amid plans by the company to diversify its renewable energy business through green hydrogen and energy storage projects.
The report comes on Renew’s announcement in April to form a joint venture to co-develop green hydrogen projects in India with oil and gas explorer Indian Oil Corp and engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro.
The partners aim to start supplying green hydrogen at an industrial scale. In June, ReNew Power unveiled new wind and solar acquisition deals and said its total gross portfolio in India has expanded to around 12.8 GW, including commissioned and committed projects.
