- RES Group intends to deploy a solar park in the East Midlands region of England.
- It has logded a planning application.
UK-based RES Group is seeking permission to install a 49.9MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands region of England. According to the company, it has lodged a planning application for the so-called Kingston Solar Farm project after working on several design versions and adapting the final one according to all site surveys and public feedback.
Planned to be located near East Leake, the PV park is proposed to be built at a south-facing site with good solar irradiation. If approved, the project will lead to the construction of a plant capable of producing enough electricity to supply roughly 15,200 homes annually. The developer estimates that around GBP 164,000 (USD 219,800) in business rates per year will be brought to the Rushcliffe Borough Council during the project’s lifespan.
To date, RES has executed over 22GW of renewable energy projects globally.
