Revego Acquires Stake in 360MW South African Wind Portfolio

South African renewable yieldco Revego Africa Energy Ltd has acquired stakes in three wind farms in the Northern Cape province. The farms with a total capacity of 360MW include the Loeriesfontein 2 and Khobab wind farms(140MW each) and the Noupoort wind farm (80MW).

All of the wind farms were constructed under Bid Window 3 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement Programme (REIPPPP). In addition, the wind farms have all signed 20-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with state-owned utility Eskom under the Government Support Framework Agreement (GSFA).

Revego says that it purchased the stakes from private equity fund manager Metier and Lereko. The company’s portfolio also includes the 94MW Aurora Wind Power plant in the Western Cape and the 100MW Kathu and 50-MW Bokpoort concentrated solar power (CSP) plants in the Northern Cape.
