- Wind farm to meet the energy demand of 27,000 homes and more
- RWE plans for more RE projects in Poland
German energy group RWE, on Tuesday, stated that it has kicked off commercial operations at its 16.8 MW wind farm in Poland.
RWE, upon the commissioning of the plant, now has 410 MW of installed capacity in Poland and is set to increase the number of its operational wind farms to 16.
The Rozdrazew park is located about 80km southeast of Poznan and is projected to have a power generation output that will be enough to cover the energy demands of more than 27,000 homes. The seven-turbine plant was installed in 14 months.
According to RWE, in the meanwhile, the company is working on the construction of the 7 MW Wierzchlas wind park in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The project is backed by a Contract for Difference (CfD) with the government and is awaiting licenses for two other projects totalling 60 MW. RWE plans to commence the construction of a 48 MW wind park this year and add more than 80 MW of solar capacity by the end of 2023.
“Poland is one of our promising markets in Europe, where we want to realise further onshore and offshore projects,” said Katja Wunschel, CEO of Onshore Wind und Solar Europe and Australia, RWE Renewables.
