Sanusi Garba assumes office as Chairman, NERC
- The Senate confirmed his appointment on 1st December
- He replaces Prof. James Momoh
Following the confirmation of his appointment by the Senate, Engr. Sanusi Garba has resumed office as the Chairman, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). He replaces Prof. James Momoh who took over the office in June 2018. The Senate on Tuesday 1st December 2020, confirmed Garba Sanusi who was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari alongside other nominees of the Commission.
The incoming Chairman speaking at the handover ceremony, Sanusi Garba appreciated the efforts of Prof. James Momoh’s tenure and his efforts in improving the sector. Prof Momoh pledged to continue offering his support whenever needed by the Commission.
