- Scatec has signed a partnership with ammonia producer Fertiglobe and the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Egypt to convert green hydrogen into green ammonia.

Norwegian energy giant, Scatec is developing a project in partnership with Fertiglobe, an ammonia producing company jointly owned by OCI N.V., Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Egypt (TSFE).
The partnership involves the conversion of hydrogen into green ammonia. The energy will be produced via the chemical process of electrolysis, with electricity generated from renewable sources.
Scatec plans to build, own, and operate a green hydrogen production plant in Ain Sokhna, Suez Governorate. The Norwegian group will enter into a long-term green ammonia purchase agreement with EBIC, Fertiglobe’s subsidiary. The green hydrogen production plant will be located near EBIC’s Ain Sokhna facility.
