Schneider Electric Switches Cavite Factories to 100% Renewable Energy

  • Schneider Electric has switched all its Cavite facilities to 100% renewable energy through a supply agreement with ACEN RES.
  • The move reduces emissions, supports the Philippines’ clean energy initiative, and demonstrates that renewable power is viable for industrial operations.

Schneider Electric has shifted all five of its facilities in the Cavite Economic Zone to 100% renewable energy. The move represents a major step for industrial sustainability in the Philippines. The company secured clean power through a supply agreement with ACEN RES under the Green Energy Option Program. The programme allows high-demand users to choose renewable power instead of traditional utilities.

The transition began in December 2025. It now covers both the company’s office and production sites in Cavite. These facilities focus on semiconductor manufacturing. They now run entirely on renewable power. As a result, Schneider Electric expects to avoid about 11,600 tonnes of carbon emissions per year. The company said the shift supports its net-zero strategy. It also said the Cavite Smart Factory is among the first in Luzon’s economic zones to run solely on clean energy. Furthermore, it is the first in East Asia within its global network to operate on renewable power. Schneider Electric added that the milestone proves that renewable energy is practical and scalable for complex industrial operations.

Meanwhile, ACEN RES highlighted the importance of the partnership. The company holds the largest market share under the Green Energy Option Program. It said the Schneider Electric deal shows how major manufacturers can lead the energy transition. It also noted that more companies now view renewable energy as reliable and suitable for everyday operations. Consequently, ACEN RES continues to help businesses move away from fossil fuels.

ACEN RES later awarded Schneider Electric its “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge. The seal recognises companies that run fully on clean power. It already appears in almost 100 facilities across the country. Schneider Electric said the badge helps communicate its environmental commitments to stakeholders. In conclusion, the company noted that the shift supports the Philippines’ renewable energy ambitions and strengthens industrial participation in climate action.
