Schneider Electric Unveils TeSys to Power West Africa’s Industrial Future

  • Schneider Electric TeSys Deca Advanced launches to deliver efficient, digital-ready motor control solutions for industries across West Africa.
  • The new contactor strengthens energy efficiency, reduces downtime, and supports sustainability in demanding industrial environments.

Schneider Electric, a global energy management and automation leader, has officially launched the TeSys Deca Advanced 115A, 150A (3-Pole), and 200A (4-Pole) contactors to its West African channel partners. This launch demonstrates Schneider Electric’s commitment to driving innovation, improving operational resilience, and supporting the region’s industrial growth.

The TeSys Deca Advanced features wide-band coil technology, allowing it to handle voltage fluctuations from 24V to 500V AC/DC. Consequently, it is ideal for regions where the power supply varies significantly. Additionally, the solution complies with IEC 60947-4-1 standards and supports motor categories AC3, AC3(e), and AC4 without derating at operating voltages of 380V or 480V.

Moreover, the contactor improves sustainability and lowers costs. It delivers 10% less power dissipation, 50% coil inrush saving, and 20% reduction in width. These features contribute to reduced CO₂ emissions and enhanced energy efficiency, aligning industries with global climate goals.

Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager for Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa, emphasised that the TeSys Deca Advanced was designed to meet local industry needs. He noted that uptime, resilience, and efficiency are critical in mining, food production, and water treatment sectors.

Furthermore, the ergonomic three-layer design simplifies installation and maintenance by improving wiring visibility and accessibility. Everlink technology, Schneider Electric’s patented power connection system, ensures secure, maintenance-free connections. This reduces installation time by up to 75% while direct PLC control capability cuts inventory complexity by up to 80%.

The TeSys Deca Advanced also enables predictive maintenance through real-time diagnostics. Therefore, businesses can detect failures before they occur, minimising unplanned downtime and extending equipment life.

Ultimately, the Schneider Electric TeSys Deca Advanced supports West African industries in becoming smarter, more sustainable, and more competitive while meeting global energy efficiency standards.
