Schneider Launches Affordable GoPact Range in West Africa

  • Schneider Electric launched its GoPact product line in West Africa to provide affordable, reliable power solutions for small businesses.
  • The GoPact range combines cost efficiency with global safety standards to compete against low-cost imports.

Schneider Electric, the French multinational, announced in a statement on Tuesday, August 26, that it has introduced a new line of products in West Africa to help small businesses manage high energy costs.

The company launched the GoPact range, which includes a moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) and a manual transfer switch, designed for everyday use in small shops, housing complexes, and non-critical commercial buildings where affordability and reliability are key.

“GoPact is crucial to the West African market because of the value it brings to our distribution channel and their customers,” said Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager, Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa. “It is an affordable offering, which helps us compete with low-cost brands from India and China, which have entered the marketplace quite aggressively.”

Olaniyan said Schneider’s premium products often serve large projects and critical buildings, while GoPact targets simpler applications such as retail outlets, cluster housing, and mini-sub installations.

The GoPact MCCB is built to protect against common electrical faults like short circuits and overloads. It has an adjustable safety unit and a secondary protection mechanism to reduce fault current. It supports power ratings up to 800 amps and breaking capacities up to 70 kA, with models covering all power supply phases. The device is available in fixed, adjustable, or electronic options and comes in sustainable packaging with recycled cartons and QR codes instead of paper manuals.

The company added that the GoPact manual transfer switch, which supports between 63 and 2000 amps, is compact, easier to install with pre-fitted components, and meets international safety standards.

Schneider said the GoPact range combines robust design with optimised manufacturing processes to deliver cost-effective solutions while maintaining global quality benchmarks.

“With the GoPact portfolio, we can deliver affordable yet dependable solutions for small businesses and everyday power needs, while strengthening our competitive position in West Africa’s fast-growing electrical market,” the company said.
