The Senate has confirmed the nominees for the Board of NERC
- Nominated positions include Chairman and Commissioners
- Sanusi Garba confirmed as Chairman
The Senate on Tuesday, 1st December 2020, confirmed the nominees for the position of Chairman and Commissioners of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). Sanusi Garba who was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari has been confirmed as the Chairman of the Commission.
Other nominees confirmed include Dr. Musilliu O. Oseni (Vice-Chairman) and Aisha Mahmud, Nathan Rogers Shatti, Moses Arigu, Dafe Akpeneye, Frank Okafor, and Musiliu Oseni (Commissioners). The Senate rejected the nomination of Prof. Akintunde Akinwande as Commissioner due to his absence at the screening session.
The approved nominees will assume duties at the expiration of the tenure of the current Management with James Momoh as the Chairman.
