Seplat Energy Starts Gas Production at 300 MMcfd ANOH Project

  • Seplat Energy achieved first gas from its 300 MMcfd ANOH project, supplying Indorama and preparing additional offtake to Nigeria LNG.
  • The plant boosts Seplat’s gas processing capacity and supports Nigeria’s LPG and clean energy goals.

Seplat Energy Plc has begun gas production from its 300 MMcfd ANOH gas project. The company trades on both the Nigerian Exchange and the London Stock Exchange.

Seplat now supplies gas to the Indorama Petrochemical Plant. The company completed an 11-kilometre export pipeline and secured regulatory approval from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission on January 16, 2026. Four upstream wells that waited on standby since November 2025 now deliver gas to the plant.

Meanwhile, Wet gas production stands at 40-52 MMscfd. Condensate output stands at 2.0-2.5 kboepd. Both production streams will increase as the plant ramps up to its full processing capacity of 300 MMcfd. Seplat also plans to sell processed gas to Nigeria LNG on an interruptible basis.

The ANOH plant combines two 150 MMscfd processing units, LPG recovery units, condensate stabilisation units and a 16 MW power plant. Seplat and the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company own the plant under a joint venture structure. The facility eliminates routine flaring and supports Seplat’s End of Routine Flaring programme. The company earns income from wet gas sales and dividends from ANOH Gas Processing Company.

Seplat uses ANOH to boost its domestic LPG supply. The company also produces LPG at Sapele and Bonny River Terminal to support clean cooking adoption.

Chief Executive Officer Roger Brown confirmed that ANOH lifts Seplat’s onshore gas processing capacity to more than 850 MMscfd. He stated that the project will also support Seplat’s 2030 production target of 200 kboepd and strengthen energy access for households and industries in Nigeria.

Federal authorities named ANOH as the first of seven priority gas development projects in the country. The project expands gas use in power generation, petrochemicals and households. Seplat positions itself as a key private operator in Nigeria’s gas-to-power and gas-for-industry strategy.
