Shell Nigeria Gas Signs Supply Agreement in Ogun

  • SNG signed a new gas supply agreement with SG Industrial FZE in the Guangdong industrial zone, strengthening its industrial customer base in Ogun State.
  • The expansion supports Nigeria’s Decade of Gas agenda and builds on SNG’s 150-km pipeline network, which serves over 150 customers across four states.

Shell Nigeria Gas Limited (SNG) has signed an agreement to supply natural gas to SG Industrial FZE, a steel manufacturer operating in the Guangdong industrial zone in Ogun State, as the company expands its footprint in Nigeria’s industrial gas market.

SNG said the agreement strengthens its growing customer base and supports its strategy to expand access to cleaner and more reliable energy for industrial users. The company operates about 150 kilometres of gas distribution pipelines and supplies more than 150 customers across Abia, Bayelsa, Ogun, and Rivers states, working in partnership with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited.

“Our commitment is to build, operate, and maintain a gas distribution system that remains reliable, resilient, and transparent while supporting economic growth,” SNG Managing Director Ralph Gbobo said at the signing ceremony.

Furthermore, SG Industrial FZE’s Vice General Manager, Moya Shua, said the partnership would secure a dependable energy supply to support the company’s expansion and long-term production plans.

SNG also stated that it has recently connected new customers to its gas pipeline network, including Reliance Chemical Products Limited II, Ultimum Limited, Nigeria Distilleries Limited III, and Rumbu Industries Nigeria Limited, as it drives domestic gas utilisation.

The company said the expansion aligns with Nigeria’s Decade of Gas initiative and the federal government’s broader gas development agenda. Shell incorporated SNG in 1998 as a wholly owned subsidiary.
