- Siemens has started production at its nacelle assembly in Taiwan.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has commenced offshore wind turbine nacelle production at its assembly factory in Taichung, Taiwan. The 30,000sqm facility will serve as the nacelle .assembky base for the 900MW Greater Changhua 1 & 2a cluster of offshore projects developed by Ørsted.
Siemens Gamesa constructed the assembly factory to meet local content requirements for the projects. Siemens received a firm order to equip the two power plants with its SG 8.0-167 DD machines in 2019
The facility is Siemens Gamesa’s first offshore nacelle assembly base outside Europe and is the third globally. The company has offshore nacelle production and assembly factories in Cuxhaven, Germany and Brande, Denmark. in 2020; Siemens Gamesa announced expansion plans for the Taichung factory. The plans will see the facility commence production for the 300MW Hai Long 2 offshore wind project.
