In 2018, the Republic of Togo entered into a Concession Agreement on the Kekeli project with Siemens Energy, TSK Group, and Pan-African Industrial group. The project involved the first combined-cycle power plant for the country. The power plant seeks to achieve up to 100 per cent of its targeted electrification by 2030.
Siemens Energy has been greatly involved in the electrification of Africa with notable projects such as the Egypt Megaproject. These projects are expected to leverage the technology company’s expertise with electricity infrastructure to, improve grid-supplied electricity to the critical aspects of the economy.
With the successful fulfilment of a critical component of the Kekeli project, Siemens once again has shown its commitment to the improvement of the African continent through the deployment of energy-related infrastructure on the continent.
