Solarise will partner with Centennial Generating to provide clean energy solutions in East Africa.
- The company will add about 10 solar projects across three countries in Africa as part of this partnership.
- Solarise recently raised $10 million to enable its expansion plans.
Solarise Africa, a commercial and industrial solar services provider, has agreed to partner with Centennial Generating, an East African clean energy developer. Solarise Africa hopes that the alliance will enable it to increase its services in the region, especially in the Rwandan, Ugandan and Zambian markets. Solarise will add seven new projects to its portfolio via this alliance. These facilities electrify schools, health facilities, businesses, accommodation facilities and the agricultural industries mainly in Rwanda.

Solarise Africa will also obtain two solar photovoltaic systems in Zambia and a project under development in Uganda. David John Frenkil, founder and managing director of Centennial Generating believes that the partnership with Solarise will enable Centennial to offer both battery-based electricity storage and solar projects to commercial and industrial facilities. “These projects are fully financed through turnkey engineering and asset management services. Centennial’s projects are designed to improve our customers’ profitability, stabilize their power supply and support their commitment to sustainability goals,” he stated.
Solarise recently raised $10 million from Proparco, a subsidiary of French Development Agency (AFD); EDFI ElectriFI (Electrification Financing Initiative), a European Union funding mechanism; and Energy Access Ventures (EAV). The company believes commercial and industrial solar services are key to reducing dependence on unstable energy grids. “Our solutions enable companies to overcome the financing barrier and reduce dependence on unstable power grids. This significantly improves uptime and productivity,” says Patrik Huber, co-founder and managing director for East Africa at Solarise Africa.
