Global independent solar power producer Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said it has acquired a 49-MW portfolio of solar parks in Portugal from Cubico Sustainable Investments.
The deal provided Sonnedix with its first operational assets in the Iberian country. The acquired portfolio consists of four photovoltaic (PV) parks in the southern Portuguese regions of Evora, Setubal and Faro.
Sonnedix currently has 172.7 MW of capacity under construction and a 51.5 MW development pipeline in Portugal. The company noted that the latest deal will enable scale efficiencies and support its expansion strategy in the local market.
CEO of Sonnedix, Axel Thiemann, added that Sonnedix is well-placed to leverage and capitalise on synergies to continue its growth journey in the region, helping it become a true leader in the Portuguese renewables market.
