In a statement issued earlier today, the Department stated that the application was rejected ”….after due consideration of all relevant information presented as part of the environmental impact assessment process”.
Karpowership has accused the Department of succumbing to a misinformation campaign by special interests. In a statement issued, it said the Department had ”….allowed a misinformation campaign, funded by special interests, to derail the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s strategic plan”.
In response, Minister of Energy Gwedebe Mantashe has stated that the Ministry of Energy will meet with its Environment counterpart to discuss the development.
