A technical fault on the grid has caused blackouts in Cape Town, the City confirmed. In a post on social media site Facebook, the City of Cape Town said, ”Due to a technical fault on the grid, Area 7 has lost power supply.”
While the City of Cape Town teams were hard at work to fix the technical fault, the City noted that ”Unfortunately, it is not clear at this stage when power will be restored,”
The Ward Councillor Nicola Powell, in an update, stated that the fault was caused by a high tension cable fault in the N1/N7 area adding, there was no timeline for resolution of the fault.
