German energy company RWE AG announced the 44-MWac solar park being operational in central Spain, close to Madrid. The 97,740 bifacial modules that make up the Casa Valdes ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) plant in the Guadalajara province are dispersed throughout a surface area of roughly 97 hectares (239.7 acres).
RWE anticipates producing enough clean energy to satisfy the yearly needs of 30,000 Spanish families. The German company is constructing Casa Valdes as well as the 54 MW-capable Las Vaguadas and Puerta del Sol PV projects in addition to Casa Valdes.
RWE Renewables Iberia, its local renewable energy division, now manages more than 480 MW of onshore wind power and 90 MW of solar capacity in Spain. The Essen-based firm is getting ready to participate in the upcoming Spanish tenders with wind and solar projects in accordance with its expansion strategy.
