Sir Lanka’s Sustainable Energy Authority is seeking consultants for a pre-feasibility study of a large scale PV power plant. The power project will be deployed under a $100 million credit facility from India Exim bank. $85 million from the credit facility will be for the exclusive deployment of rooftop solar PV arrays in government buildings under the country’s net metering scheme. $10 million will go towards installing solar hybrid (solar-plus-storage) for low-income households. The remaining $5 million will go towards funding floating solar installations.

According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, Sri Lanka had 215MW of installed solar PV capacity by 2019. The country intends to increase this to 1GW by the end of 2025 through its  Soorya Bala Sangramaya (battle for solar energy).

Deadline for submission for interested Consultants is December 9.
