  • Sri Lanka plans 100MW solar park development.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is seeking contractors for developing and constructing a 100-MW solar park project in Sri Lanka’s Uva province.

According to a report by Renewables Now, the regulator aims to select a developer to install the capacity on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, with the scope of work including design, financing, supply, construction, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance. In addition to the photovoltaic (PV) park, the tender covers constructing a 132-kV transmission line.

Interested parties will be able to submit their bids by October 21. According to the tender notice, the proposals will be opened immediately after the end of the submission deadline.

The solar farm is planned to be installed on leased land in the Siyambalanduwa division of Moneragala District. Once in operation, it will be run through a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with CEB.
