- Acciona Energia to supply 600MWp for green hydrogen project.
Australian Stanwell Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Spanish Acciona Energia. The MoU entails future energy supply for a green hydrogen project.
According to the deal, Acciona would supply 600MWp from a proposed solar farm in Aldoga to develop a green hydrogen project. The green hydrogen project is expected to start production in the mid-2020s.
Steven Miles, Deputy Premier, said, ‘A direct connection would see Queensland’s largest solar project providing clean and renewable energy for Queensland’s largest renewable hydrogen project.’
Michael O’Pourke, Stanwell CEO, said that although the energy supply would enable the development of the green hydrogen project, more energy would be needed to complete it.
