Starsight, a C&I solar power developer has invested in UPDC Facility Management which is a joint venture with UACN Property Development Company. Starsight is an energy-as-a-service provider and has deployed about 36 MW of solar hybrid generation and 28 MWh of energy storage in over 500 locations in Nigeria and Ghana. Starsight investors include the African Private Equity firms Helios Investment Partners and Africa Infrastructure Investment Managers.

The partnership will combine Starsight’s sustainable power solutions prowess with UPDC’s facilities management business operations. According to Tony Car, Starsight’s CEO, the partnership will open up a residential and commercial pipeline for the deployment of obver 10MW making both companies Starsight and UPDC market leaders in the space.
UPDC which was established in 2001 to manage and maintain residential estates in Nigeria curently manages 28 residential and commercial assets across Nigeria. According to teh acting CEO, Deborah Nicol-Omeruah, this partnership will expand the company’s service offering to include energy management services allowing the company to increase its revenue considerably. “We intend to increase our Facility Management footprint from 28 to 50 properties across Nigeria over the next 3 years” stated Nicol-Omeruah.
