Sungrow Supports 300 kW Solar Upgrade at Australian School

  • Sungrow upgraded Saint Columba Anglican School’s solar system from 100 kW to 300 kW to lower electricity costs, boost efficiency and support sustainability.
  • The school expects a four-year payback as the system optimises energy use through advanced inverter networking and real-time monitoring.

Sungrow has supported a 300 kW commercial solar upgrade at Saint Columba Anglican School in Australia, replacing an older 100 kW system. The project, delivered with MNC Solar Power, aims to reduce power costs and improve the school’s energy efficiency.

The new system will supply high daytime demand across school buildings. SCAS expects a payback period of about four years and ongoing operational savings.

SCAS Business Manager Steve Mitchell said the upgrade will reduce electricity expenses and ease pressure on operating costs. He said the savings will allow the school to maintain educational quality without higher energy bills.

The installation features three Sungrow 110 kW commercial inverters and 708 Canadian Solar 440 W panels. The system uses a wireless cascading architecture that links the inverters over the school’s network. The design enables intelligent load sharing across multiple buildings without new cabling.

Sungrow Technical Service Manager Young said the system will balance solar generation across distribution boards and reduce reliance on the grid.

The system connects to Sungrow’s iSolarCloud platform for real-time monitoring. Students and staff can track energy generation and consumption, turning the system into an educational resource.

MNC Solar Power delivered the installation during the school holidays. Sungrow provided technical support throughout the process.

Project partners said the upgrade shows how commercial solar solutions can scale for complex facilities such as educational campuses. They said the model supports cost savings, smarter energy use and sustainability goals.
