According to Sungrow, the Sungrow SG250HX-IN-20 inverter and its MVS6650-LV turnkey medium voltage station can withstand complex environments such as extreme temperatures, dry and dusty conditions as their inverters have IP66 and C5 protection rating and intelligent forced air-cooling technology. The company also adds that the inverters are compatible with 2-sided solar panels that will be used in the Kom Ombo Solar Plant.
Acwa Power has already secured about $114 million in loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the OPEC Fund for International Development (Ofid), the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Arab International Investment Bank (AII). Acwa Power expects that it will begin the commercial operation of the plant in Q3 2022.
The plant is expected to supply 650GWh per year to at least 130,000 Egyptian households while reducing carbon emissions by 336,000 tonnes annually.
