SUS ENVIRONMENT Champions Clean Power at COP30

The 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) took place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Brazil, from November 7 to 18, 2022. The event brought together over 50,000 delegates from more than 190 countries and regions. They collaborated to achieve the annual climate finance target of USD 1.3 trillion. Moreover, they pushed for a faster and fairer transition to a clean global economy.

SUS ENVIRONMENT, one of China’s leading environmental and energy enterprises, received an official invitation to the China Pavilion’s core activities. The company participated in discussions on energy transition, ecological governance, and biodiversity conservation.

Additionally, it utilised the platform to highlight the strategic value of waste-to-energy in global climate action. Through this, SUS ENVIRONMENT shared its integrated solutions for building a greener and more resilient world.

Scientists warn that global temperatures may soon exceed the 1.5°C limit set by the Paris Agreement. Consequently, waste management, now the fourth-largest source of carbon emissions, demands urgent intervention. SUS ENVIRONMENT addressed this challenge directly.

The company delivered a keynote speech titled “SUS Solid Waste Management Solution: Technological Innovation Driving Climate Action and Sustainable Development”. The presentation showcased China’s latest progress in waste-to-energy. It also shared proven carbon-reduction practices that strengthen environmental governance and support sustainable development.

Furthermore, SUS ENVIRONMENT explained that continuous innovation makes clean energy with low or even negative carbon emissions possible. The company now uses AI-driven optimisation, industrial collaboration and advanced processing technologies. It also supports these innovations with a strong commitment to global cooperation and open knowledge-sharing.

The company also presented “Towards a Sustainable Future, Waste-to-Energy and Biodiversity Conservation Practices”. This session demonstrated how SUS ENVIRONMENT applies strict ecological protection principles during the construction and operation of its waste-to-energy plants.

Moreover, it highlighted expertise in cleaning contaminated industrial and mining sites, restoring landfills and converting secondary waste into valuable resources. As a result, these practices demonstrate that environmental protection and clean energy development can be mutually beneficial.

Looking ahead, SUS ENVIRONMENT plans to expand its global partnerships. The company aims to support climate governance, ecological protection and sustainable development by broadening the reach of its waste-to-energy solutions. Today, SUS ENVIRONMENT stands among the world’s leading environmental service providers. As of June 2025, it has 11 management centres worldwide and has invested in 90 waste-to-energy projects. Notably, these facilities process approximately 120,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste daily. They also generate around 18,000 GWh of green electricity annually, making a substantial contribution to global sustainability.
