Indian Suzlon Energy Ltd has been awarded a contract to supply turbines for a 225 MW wind project of a local renewables developer, Everrenew Energy Pvt Ltd, in Tamil Nadu. Everrenew’s latest order follows a deal last summer when the Indian firm agreed to purchase Suzlon’s S120-2.1 MW turbine generators for a 100.8 MW wind project in Tamil Nadu. The order covers 75 Suzlon’s 3 MW series turbine delivery and installation machines.
Also, Suzlon will supervise the project commissioning and provide operations and maintenance for the wind farm. The S144-140m turbine generators with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular tower will be erected in the Trichy and Tuticorin districts of Tamil Nadu. The wind power complex is expected to generate electricity to meet the demand of around 185,000 Indian homes. Its output will power commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. The plant will be completed in March 2024 and serve the C&I sector.
