Axpo Holding AG has revealed that it has agreed to the sale of its 66 MW wind farm in Italy. The farm is to be sold to energy supplier Edison SpA. Axpo Holding, a Swiss renewable power producer and energy trader, now seeks to put its entire focus on new growth initiatives.
The sale of the wind park in Bisaccia, southern Italy, has already attracted all the necessary approvals, and the deal is effective immediately. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The wind park, which was commissioned in 2012, has been under the management of a subsidiary of Axpo WinBis. It includes 22 units of Danish Vestas Wind Systems A/S V90 turbines. The wind park has had an average availability of 98.6% per year and an annual production of about 98.5 GWh over the past six years.
This deal supports Axpo’s strategy to redistribute and divest certain wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) assets across Europe. The Swiss company aims to develop 3 GW of onshore wind farms and 10 GW of solar plants by 2030.
