Tata Power to Grow Capacity to 15GW

 

  • Tata Power wants to increase its clean energy portfolio to 15GW over the next few years.

Tata Power’s Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran has said that the company plans to grow its renewable energy portfolio to 15GW in the next few years. In addition, the company plans to scale its rooftop solar, solar pumps, electric vehicle charging systems and home automation businesses.

The company’s current portfolio consists of 1839MW renewable energy capacity comprising 907MW wind power and 932MW solar power with 373MW of wind and solar under development. He added that the company also won !GW of clean energy projects in the preceding year.

Chandrasekaran stated that Tata is currently seeing strong growth in its rooftop solar and solar pumps segments. “The company currently has the highest ever EPC order book and is expanding solar cells and modules manufacturing capacity.
