TCN plans to add new Control Centre in Gwagwalada
- The new centre is in line with expansion plans
- No Objection Certificate issued by BPP
The Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Sule Abdulaziz, has announced plans to construct a new Control Centre at Gwagwalada in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He said the plans are in line with the expansion plan of the TCN.
Engr. Abdulaziz speaking during an inspection of the proposed construction site said: “Our purpose here is to check and see if this site will be suitable for the construction of a second national control centre like the one we have in Osogbo”. He also noted that the contract for the execution of the project will be signed soon. In line with the construction plans, Abdulaziz stated that the Bureau of Public Procurement has already issued a Certificate of No Objection.
The Managing Director also assured that the Control Centre will be equipped with the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) as well as, other modern communication equipment. He said the equipment will be in line with international standards.
