TD Africa, West Africa’s leading technology distribution powerhouse, took centre stage at the Schneider Electric Innovation Day Nigeria 2025. The event brought together key stakeholders from the technology, energy, infrastructure, and public policy sectors. It also marked Schneider Electric’s 25th anniversary in Nigeria, which gave the occasion added significance.
More than 450 participants attended. They included IT partners, automation engineers, electrical consultants, architects, end users and senior public officials. The theme, “Unlocking Nigeria’s Energy Future: Policy, Innovation, and Investment,” guided discussions on energy transition and national development.
A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TD Africa and Schneider Electric. The agreement commits both organisations to developing a network of future-ready, AI-powered data centres across Nigeria.
These facilities will support both Core and Edge operations. They will also strengthen Nigeria’s digital backbone and improve national resilience. Additionally, they will accelerate technological progress and enable enterprises to adopt emerging tools with confidence.
Dr Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group, signed the MoU on behalf of TD Africa. His involvement underscored the importance of the partnership. He described the initiative as a significant step in Nigeria’s digital evolution.
He also stated that the project represents an investment in the country’s long-term competitiveness. According to him, TD Africa intends to support Africa’s digital growth through secure, intelligent and sustainable infrastructure built to global standards.
Several industry leaders contributed to the ceremony. Walid Sheta, Zone President for the Middle East and Africa, and Canninah Dladla, Cluster President at Schneider Electric, shared their insights.
Senior officials from the Energy Commission of Nigeria, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Nigeria LNG, Aradel Holdings, and SEforALL participated in panel sessions. These discussions emphasised the need for stronger partnerships, clearer policy direction, and long-term investment to support Nigeria’s evolving energy and digital landscape.
The MoU further positions TD Africa as a catalyst for West Africa’s digital transformation. The collaboration combines TD Africa’s extensive distribution network with Schneider Electric’s expertise in automation and energy management.
As a result, Nigeria will gain a secure, scalable and energy-efficient data centre infrastructure. These facilities will align with global sustainability standards and support the country’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
As Nigeria moves towards a future shaped by clean energy and innovation, TD Africa remains committed to building the partnerships and infrastructure needed to secure long-term digital competitiveness.
