Tetracore Launches 60,000 SCMD CNG Plant in Ogun

  • Tetracore Energy Group has launched a 60,000 SCMD CNG facility in Ogun State to expand access to cleaner transport fuel.
  • The project supports lower fuel costs, job creation, and Nigeria’s energy transition.

Tetracore Energy Group, through its subsidiary Tetracore CNG Solutions Limited, has commissioned a 60,000 standard cubic metres per day (SCMD) Auto CNG plant in Ogere, Ogun State. The project strengthens clean energy infrastructure in one of Nigeria’s busiest industrial corridors.

The inauguration ceremony drew traditional rulers, community leaders, and industry stakeholders. Their presence highlighted the plant’s importance to local development and Nigeria’s energy transition.

Meanwhile, the company located the facility along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. This position allows it to serve transport operators, logistics firms, manufacturers, and businesses in Ogun and neighbouring states. The plant has a capacity of 60,000 SCMD. It can fuel more than 100 CNG-powered vehicles daily. As a result, it will ease supply constraints and reduce dependence on petrol and diesel.

Furthermore, Managing Director Dayo Williams described the project as essential infrastructure. He said the plant supports cleaner mobility, industrial productivity, and long-term economic growth. He stressed that the facility goes beyond a standard fuelling station.

The project will also benefit the host community. It will create jobs and stimulate commercial activity in Ogere. The Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Saliu, welcomed the investment and described it as a turning point for the town. In addition, community leader Anthony Oyegunle said the plant will create opportunities for young people and small businesses.

The Ogere facility forms part of Tetracore’s wider expansion strategy. The company continues to grow its midstream and downstream gas distribution network. It focuses on compressed natural gas (CNG), piped natural gas (PNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), and gas-to-power solutions.

Nigeria continues to deepen gas utilisation under its energy transition agenda. Therefore, projects like the Ogere Auto CNG plant show stronger private-sector involvement. They also demonstrate progress toward cleaner transport, lower fuel costs, and improved energy security.
