Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation Launches Solar Power Project in Cuba

  • The Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation of Vietnam have launched two projects in Cuba.
  • The 20MW Solar Park covering 33.6 hectares has been connected to Cuba’s national grid.

The Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation of Vietnam have launched two projects in Cuba. These included a laundry detergent plant and a solar power park.

In Cuba’s Artemisa Province, the Mariel Special Development Zone was developed to include the Suchel TBV S.A. Laundry Detergent Factory and the TBD Solar Park.

This event is a milestone in the partnership between Vietnam and Cuba. Also, Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation become the Vietnamese company with the most investment projects in Cuba. The factory for laundry detergent was developed jointly by Mercantile Society Industries Nexus S.A., a Cuban company, and Thai Binh Detergent JSC. This unit is part of Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation.

The TBD solar energy Park was developed by Thai Binh Investment and Trading Corporation as well as Dinh Tan Construction Investment Corporation.

The company’s main activities include designing, building and operating solar power plants, providing design and construction services, and assembly and maintenance for local solar power stations.

The 20MW Solar Park covering 33.6 hectares has been connected to Cuba’s national grid and is contributing significantly to the industrialization and modernization of the Latin American nation.

A company representative said that “Thai Binh” will increase its investment in clean energy in Cuba in the near term to reach 150 Megawatts by 2024 and then continue to invest according to the road map for the next few years.

Trinh van Huyen and Tran Thanh Toan, representatives of Thai Binh Green Power Investment Corporation, said that the corporation would sponsor 5KWp solar panels on top of Mariel Orlando Santana General Hospital, Artemisa.
