The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) has formed a partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to enhance its ability to fulfil its mandate to Nigerians. During a recent courtesy visit to EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede in Abuja, NDPHC Managing Director Jennifer Adighije emphasised her commitment to strict adherence to regulations and transparency.

Adighije, who has a background in procurement from the Central Bank of Nigeria, stated, “The culture of due process will now be strictly enforced at the NDPHC.” She highlighted the purpose of the visit as an opportunity to familiarise herself with the EFCC and to seek cooperation in upholding existing laws.

The collaboration aims to address issues with dishonest contractors and promote accountability within the NDPHC. In response, Olukoyede congratulated Adighije and her team on their recent appointments, urging them to uphold integrity in public service. He warned that corrupt practices would be scrutinised even after individuals leave office, stressing that public trust demands transparency and accountability.

Olukoyede noted that both organisations are crucial in tackling Nigeria’s pressing challenges: corruption and power supply. He stated, “If you fix power and energy, you have addressed 77 per cent of Nigeria’s problems.” He advised the NDPHC team to act cautiously, emphasising that past actions could be revisited years later.

Commending the NDPHC for its commitment to due process, Olukoyede pledged the EFCC’s support in cases where contractors fail to meet their obligations. He reiterated that the partnership would discourage dishonesty and enforce discipline among contractors, encouraging NDPHC to report any violations of financial laws or procurement processes.
