- Bolarex, Energir LP, and Hydro-Quebec have partnered to deploy three wind projects.
Three Canadian power producers Boralex Inc, Energir LP, and Hydro-Quebec, have announced a partnership to deploy three 400MW wind farms in Quebec.
Under the agreement, Boralex, Energir and Hydro-Quebec will participate equally in the projects through affiliates and expect the total investment to reach CAD 3 billion (USD 2.38bn/EUR 2.20bn).
According to the project details, the proposal comprises the installation of about 60 to 80 wind turbines per site across the regional county municipalities (RCM) of La Cote-de-Beaupre and Charlevoix and potentially use the territory of the RCM of La Jacques-Cartier for one section of the development.
Hydro-Quebec plans to procure the output of the Des Neiges trio under three power purchase agreements (PPAs). The announcement states that each project would be developed separately to meet Hydro-Quebec’s electricity needs. The projects are classified as being in development. The partners are currently conducting field studies and environmental impact studies, conducting preliminary engineering work and organising consultation sessions.
