Tlou Energy is set to develop a hydrogen strategy to deploy clean energy solutions in Botswana and southern Africa. The strategy will complement the company’s current gas-to-power project. The company aims to create a roadmap for the development of hydrogen in Southern African countries to provide both the countries and the company access to a carbon-neutral energy source.

Tlou Energy, based in Botswana, is well placed to become a regional leader in hydrogen production as it has the resources and capacity. The company has access to methane needed to produce carbon and hydrogen and access to adequate solar resources needed to power the process. The company counts as advantages its already secured requirements and approvals, including environmental, gas and solar generation licenses, access to land and established in-country operational expertise.
