- Total Energies and ENEOS Holdings are awarded a contract by Imerys to install 3,200 solar panels in Malaysia.
The joint venture (JV) between the Japanese company ENEOS Holdings Inc. and the French energy company TotalEnergies has been awarded a contract to construct a 1.8 MWp rooftop solar project in Malaysia.
The company said that the French industrial minerals firm Imerys SA chose TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pte Ltd for this project.
A total of 3,200 solar panels will make up the photovoltaic (PV) system, which can provide 2,450 MWh of clean electricity annually. This will be adequate to meet 10% of Imerys’ Ipoh facility’s energy needs.
Under the agreement, the Singapore-based JV will fully fund, install and operate the solar system while Imerys will buy the electricity generated over 25 years.
TotalEnergies ENEOS is focused on developing B2B solar distributed generation (DG) projects across Asia with a current goal of delivering 2 GW over the next five years.
