- The agreement will see both organisations collaborate on energy projects.
- The deal also includes skills transfer and clean energy development.
TotalEnergies’ CEO Patrick Pouyanne and Rwanda Development Board (RDB), a public institution responsible for accelerating Rwanda’s economic development, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of energy projects. The MoU will see both companies work together to distribute energy products, including LPG, electric charging, renewable hydroelectricity generation and the development of Natural Based Solutions for carbon storage.
Clare Akamanzi, CEO of RDB, noted that the partnership also included skills transfer in critical areas such as renewable energies and energy transition. She added that this would help improve local expertise in the country’s energy sector.
News of the MoU between TotalEnergies and the RDB came just as Rwanda re-opened its border with Uganda, which closed for three years.
