- More than 14,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules will be used for the project.
- Output to meet 30% of Lhoist’s energy demand.
TotalEnergies SE, a French multi-energy sector company, has entered into an agreement that will see the company supply 7.4MWp of distributed generation solar projects to the Iberian facilities of lime, limestone and mineral solutions company Lhoist.
More than 14,000 photovoltaic (PV) modules will be used for the project, according to TotalEnergies. The solar installations will be stationed at two sites in Spain, and a site will be located in Portugal.
The project will mark TotalEnergies’ first onsite distributed generation solar assets in service for a commercial and industrial (C&I) consumer in the region.
The output of the plants will help Lhoist cover about 30% of its energy demand while offsetting about 3,600 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions every year. The systems will benefit from cleaning robots installed on the PV panels’ surface to limit the soiling affectation and optimise performance.
