TotalEnergies to Supply Amazon with 474MW Clean Energy Capacity

TotalEnergies has entered into a collaboration with Amazon that includes signing power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the supply of 474MW of clean energy capacity in the US and Europe. TotalEnergies will supply clean energy and battery storage capacity to Amazon as the tech giant looks to power its operations with 100 per cent clean energy by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2040.

Both companies also expect to expand the partnership to the Middle East and Asia. Under the collaboration, Amazon will help TotalEnergies in its digital transformation drive. Total is banking on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help speed up its migration to the crowd, enhance IT transformation and operations digitisation, as well as its digital innovation. Kathrin Buvac, vice president, AWS Strategic Industries, stated: “Working with TotalEnergies on innovative cloud technologies to ‎drive reductions in carbon emissions and present new renewable energy sources is a tremendous opportunity.”
