Trina Solar has begun to manufacture solar cells and Vertex modules in its new Vietnam factory.
- The factory can produce 4.5GW of solar modules yearly.
- Trina Solar will supply modules produced in the factory to the North American market.
Chinese OEM Trina Solar has commenced manufacturing its 210 mm cells and 550W Vertex modules in its new factory in Vietnam. The company started construction of the fully automated manufacturing facility in Thai Nguyen in December last year, completing in just under six months.

The facility can manufacture 3GW of cels and 4.5GW of modules annually. Trina Solar plans to expand this capacity to 3.5GW and 5GW, respectively. The solar OEM also intends to begin manufacturing Vertex modules of 400W and 670W in the same facility. Trina Solar will supply modules manufactured from the Vietnam facility to the North American market.
Trina Solar currently manufactures its Vertex cell and module in factories in China and Vietnam. The company expects to reach total panel production of over 50GW by the end of 2021.
