- Plans on making the new electrolyser available commercially within three years.
TTP Plc, a UK based technology developer, has partnered with Ionomr Inovations Inc, a Canadian ion-exchange products maker, to enable the manufacturing scale-up of low-cost electrolysers for the production of green hydrogen.
In a joint statement on Tuesday, both companies revealed that they would seek to produce electrolysers with the capacity for green hydrogen with low operating and capital costs. The duo plan to take an innovative approach to the selection of materials and leverage high-volume manufacturing processes used in other industries.
They plan on making the new electrolyser available commercially within three years.
The partnership will benefit from the intellectual property of TTP and Ionomr’s anion-exchange product Aemion+. TTP is having discussions with electrolyser operators and accepting enquiries for pilot system installations, according to their statement.
“We are delighted to form this partnership with TTP. They have the scale and the experience necessary to integrate our advanced materials into a new electrolyser technology that could revolutionise how electrochemical stacks, and green hydrogen, are produced in the future,” commented Bill Haberlin, CEO of Ionomr Innovations.
