- The Netherlands get 140GWH mega energy project in operation.
- The project has a total capacity of 22MW.
Vattenfall, a Swedish energy utility company, has completed a hybrid power plant that generates solar and wind power and stores power using batteries in a single site in the Netherlands. The mega energy project has six wind turbines with a total capacity of 22MW. In addition, 115 000 solar panels were installed together with 288 BMW batterie. The batteries were packed in 12 sea containers.
The three technologies available on the site have the same grid connection. As a result, the utility company expects 140GWh of electricity from the power plant site every year. If this mark is attained, the site will boast the capacity to meet the energy demand of 40,000 homes in the Netherlands.
