Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems announced it would partner with LM Wind Power, part of rival GE Renewable Energy, to design and produce blades for some of its EnVentus platform machines.
The collaboration concerns the blades for the Danish firm’s V172-7.2 MW turbines. As part of the initiative, LM Wind and Vestas will work together to enhance the blade design, manufacturing setup and global supply of the specific turbine type based on the Danish manufacturer’s requirements. LM Wind Power is to supply the blades from its global facilities, with productions to begin in the second half of 2024.
